Hi guys .. its me Aisyah. Welcome to biology life !
What is Biology ?
The word biology is derived from the greek words /bios/ meaning /life/
and /logos/ meaning /study/ and is defined as the science of life and
living organisms.
What is cell ???
The
smallest structural and functional unit of an organism, typically microscopic
and consisting of cytoplasm and a nucleus enclosed in a membrane. Microscopic
organisms typically consist of a single cell, which is either eukaryotic or
prokaryotic.
The difference between plant and animal cell
Animal Cell

Plant Cell

Cell wall
Absent
Present (formed of cellulose)
Shape
Round (irregular shape)
Rectangular (fixed shape)
Vacuole
One or more small vacuoles (much smaller than
plant cells).
One, large central vacuole taking up 90% of cell
volume.
Centrioles
Present in all animal cells
Only present in lower plant forms.
Chloroplast
Animal cells don't have
chloroplasts.
Plant cells have chloroplasts because they make
their own food.
